Job Overview

As a Senior Genomics Software Engineer at Children's Hospital Colorado, you will be a key member of the Precision Diagnostics team, PDx, with the opportunity to develop and operationalize enterprise genomics platform . PDx offers both oncology and germline testing thus this position will be responsible for full design, optimization, validation, and operational support of application specific algorithms and data workflows to meet the varying needs. Duties will include creating novel computational approaches and analytical tools as well as adapting pre-existing processes for large scale analysis of genomic sequence data for both clinical and research purposes. Working knowledge of manipulating publicly accessible, commercial and/or proprietary databases is essential as well as creating user interfaces to bioinformatics software and computational tools for clinical based activities. As the subject matter expert, it will be expected that this role provides technical direction to both scientific and technical personnel as well as provides the necessary training for the different user groups. This position is responsible for full performance complex systems analysis, design and applications programming for single and multiple information systems, software applications, architectures, data warehouses, databases, and data extraction and reporting. Duties include designing, planning, testing, implementing, maintenance, problem solving, documenting, and developing software code, standards, principles and practices. Additional Information

Department: Precision Diagnostics Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits Shift: Days, Monday - Friday, with potential to support urgent test requests as needed on weekends and holidays. *This is a hybrid position.

Qualifications

EDUCATION - Bachelor's degree is required. EXPERIENCE - Minimum of five (5) years of related experience is required. EQU VALENCY - Combination of post-high school education, job related certification, and/or related experience equivalent to nine (9) years may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
