The posted salary range budgeted for this position is between $4,848.66 and $6,376.24 monthly. New hires will be typically brought into the agency at a starting salary between the posted minimum and the average pay of employees in their same classification in the Office of Technology unless the average pay exceeds the midpoint for the state positions classification salary group. Offers will be commensurate with the candidates experience and qualifications and will thoughtfully consider internal pay equity for agency staff who perform similar duties and have similar qualifications. The top half of the posted salary range is generally reserved for candidates who far exceed the requirements and qualifications for the role. Position OverviewThe initiatives and actions of the Special Projects Team (SPT) in the Office of Operations aims to improve the overall system performance of local education agencies in Texas. The Project Management Specialist will support the operations and organization of key agency initiatives, involving both project management and administrative support. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Partnerships, Office of Operations, this position supports the coordinating and planning of projects, data collection, monitoring the progress and schedule of projects; and proactively communicating with SPT staff to maximize supports and processes that will help the team achieve agency and office level goals. You will join an adaptive team, comprised of strategic and systematic thinkers dedicated to improving agency initiatives and ensuring alignment across agency teams. Flexible work location within the state of Texas may be considered for qualified candidates. However, the Project Management Specialist will work a hybrid schedule with at least three in-person days each week. You may perform other functions as assigned. 1. Effective Organization: effectively organize and complete multiple projects simultaneously, manage multiple workstreams, meet deadlines and prioritize tasks to deliver quality outcomes; develop innovative solutions with an ability to prototype and iterate while managing projects2. Project Management: plan, coordinate, monitor progress, resolve issues and change management; create and maintain overall project plans for multiple initiatives; compile the documentation of project deliverables for historical repository; assist in tracking and analyzing project deliverables3. Administrative Coordination: support and execute recurring and ad oc internal projects; manage logistics for priority internal and external meetings including scheduling as needed and tracking key deliverables from key meetings; support efforts related to employee engagement to identify and implement strategies for continuous improvement4.Risk Assessment: anticipate, identify, and manage process issues that may impede the success of special projects and important agency initiatives, while proactively developing solutions to streamline work across projects5. Contribute to Cross-Divisional TEA Project Strategies: help improve strategic planning for important agency initiatives, such as the integration of the agencys High Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) with other agency products through cross-team collaboration Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university Degree field(s): Computer Science, Technical Communication, Business Administration, Public Policy, Public Administration or related field. Experience: At least [2] years of experience in strategy or implementation of large programs Substitutions: Education and experience may substitute for one another on a year-for-year basis. Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) is required Experience with Smartsheet software is preferred Experience with Microsoft SharePoint is preferred Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is preferred.
