The Print software Platform Product Manager will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing activities for the Print software platform. In addition, the product manager will be responsible for supporting customer facing HP Product and solutions and their vast number of use cases. The Product Manger makes data-driven decision and collaborates with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Architects, Product Managers to drive the platform functionality from concept to customer adoption.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build a scalable, secure, and reliable Print Software platform.

  • Works closely with stakeholders to understand needs and priorities.

  • Roadmap - own platform roadmap for services and manage the backlog through constant prioritization. Manage product management requirements coming from various business units and cross functional teams.

  • Translates stakeholder needs into product requirements and definitions.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to guide feature development and prioritization.

  • Translates user requirements into executable and workable feature items with the software engineering team.

  • Acts as an advocate for the stakeholders during specification and development stages.

  • Manage product lifecycle of functionalities on the Print Software platform

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong technical knowledge of software platform systems, including enterprise, middleware, firmware, and embedded systems.

  • Adept at collecting and analyzing input from multiple sources (internal customers, product managers, engineering, architecture, and management).

  • Significant experience in software development, systems engineering, or software platform product management.

  • Ability to understand and deal well with rapid development cycles and remain flexible in the face of uncertainty.

  • Ability to not only communicate in software engineering specific jargon and non-technical language but also translate between the two.

Scope & Impact

  • Decisions and actions typically impact multiple departments and may have downstream repercussions lasting multiple weeks.

  • Advises various internal, partner, and customer teams on the needs and requirements of target markets.

  • Works closely with architects and technology leads, directly engaging with internal and external software development teams.

Complexity

  • Moderate: Some senior management interface; frequent cross-functional/cross-organizational interaction on execution of tactics.

  • Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project.

  • Leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant area or demonstrated competence. Typically 10+ years of relevant experience.
