Amazon Senior Investigations Manager, Strategic Investigation Team (SIT), Security And Loss Prevention (SLP) in Bengaluru, India

We are looking to hire an insightful, results-oriented Senior Investigations Manager for the Security & Loss Prevention (SLP) function in Amazon India. The objective of the India SLP team is to mitigate security and operational risks to the associates, data, physical assets & inventory. The SLP team ensures smooth run of the day-to-day business operations by protecting against various threats and by managing security and loss prevention risks, thereby ensuring a safe and secure work environment. This is achieved by preventing the security related risks and vulnerabilities as early as possible; by intervening in unfolding incidents and exposures in order to minimize any negative impact; and by investigating thoroughly security related incidents in order to identify and address root causes and to prevent re-occurrence.

Key job responsibilities

1.The purpose of the role is to be a member of the SLP Strategic Investigations Team (SIT) and undertake investigations particularly significant, serious and high impact or organized theft or Fraud, pilferage by internal and external bad actors.

  1. Provide investigative services and guidance for SLP and work with cross-functional teams throughout the organization (CS, NOC, TRMS, PR, PP, Legal, Human Resources, Finance, NL and other related areas).

  2. Develop & innovate intelligence process using technology (OSINT) to identify MO’s, loss hot spot, and crime trends; then disseminate to the SLP team.

  3. Manage investigations in the Social Engineering Fraud space with cross functional teams support.

  4. Maintain global loss and investigative metrics including a comprehensive case management system.

  5. Assist with oversee training and professional development of field investigators.

  6. Develop and maintain relationships with international, national/regional and local law enforcement agencies and Manage third-party suppliers of domestic and international investigative services.

A day in the life

The Senior Investigations Manager will partner with cluster and regional loss prevention managers to mitigate risk of theft, fraud and other high impacting incidents. This person will be an operational subject matter expert on investigations related to social engineering and emerging new frauds, use of analytical techniques and have the ability to share their expertise with associates at Amazon locations within the SLP. The position will also work with cross-functional teams throughout the organization. The position will interact with various stakeholders to drive goals and ensure appropriate controls are in place.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Bengaluru, KA, IND

Basic Qualifications

  1. Six (6) plus years of experience managing investigations. Overall Banking/ Telecom/Security/Loss prevention experience of 15 plus years.

  2. Proven ability to conduct serious fraud investigations

  3. Reviewing Investigations conducted by field teams and presenting it to senior management.

  4. Experience in managing and analyzing case management database

  5. Experience in data mining techniques and related analytics to detect patterns.

  6. Knowledge & experience of the law as it applies to interviews, arrest, and the judicial process

  7. An ability to travel 30-45% (domestic and international); may increase at times.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in security or related field.

  2. PCI/CFE/CPP or similar certifications qualification

  3. Knowledge of loss prevention mitigation techniques applicable to distribution Centre and supply chain.

  4. Previous law enforcement or military background.

  5. Trained in Wicklander-Zulawski (WZ), P.E.A.C.E or Reid Interview Techniques
