The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on the interface between research and applications of new technologies for utitlity electrical grids and buildings. One major part is the coordination and management of the business accellerator and incubator program together with the Business Units. Working in this position requires a solid scientific and practical background as well as a very good understanding of emerging technologies. Since success is only achieved if inventions become innovations (= practical usage) with business impact, an excellent understanding of exisisting and future customer needs is essential. The position will also involve staying in close contact with leading global research centers.

Responsibilities:

  • You identify unique market offerings for sustainable electricity grids in both grid and building contexts, with a special emphasis on medium and low voltage AC and DC grids.

  • You strategically plan and execute business accelerator and incubator programs with tangible outcomes. In this context, the validation of concepts and conducting pilots through our dynamic business accelerator program is also a part of your responsibilities.

  • You analyze cutting-edge technologies from research institutions and startups and vigilantly monitor competitors and their patent activities.

  • You also collaborate continuously with the Smart Infrastructure Business to enhance existing technologies and introduce promising innovations.

  • You support the Smart Infrastructure representatives in key company core technology (CCT) programs, such as the CCT Sustainable Energy and Infrastructure initiative.

Qualifications:

  • You hold a PhD or equivalent degree in Energy Systems, specializing in electrical energy, with an international academic background.

  • You have a long-term expertise and a track record of success in Electricity System Design

  • During your extensive experience in engaging with customers, you are able to understand their needs and preferences.

  • Your exceptional business understanding in the area of energy systems coupled with strategic foresight will make you stand out.

  • You are recognized as a leading technology authority within international networks and industry associations.

  • You are proficient in leveraging digital technologies for utility grids and building applications, including Digital Twin and AI.

  • With proven experience in managing public-funded projects, both domestically and internationally, you'll thrive in this role.
