BlackRock Associate, Market Intelligence Specialist in Gurgaon, India

About this role

The Corporate Strategy and Development Group sits at the center of the firm and is responsible for anticipating where our clients and the people they serve are going, and how BlackRock can best deliver on their needs.

Global Market Intelligence is a part of this group and is accountable for analyzing BlackRock’s competitive landscape and providing insights and supportive data across the firm to respond to external industry dynamics.

Based in Gurgaon, this role will be responsible for analyzing industry trends across all investment and client segments, with a focus on Asia Pacific (APAC) and tracking the wider global asset management ecosystem.

This is a highly visible role that will require subject matter expertise, an ability to analyze large data sets, and insight generation. In addition, the role requires strong communication skills to articulate findings to key business partners and senior leaders across the firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze trends from industry data and reporting across the global asset management industry, including Mutual Funds, ETFs, and Alternatives across all client segments

  • Perform research on key competitors and emerging topical trends with an initial focus on APAC

  • Build and maintain relationships with business groups to enable collaboration, knowledge sharing and a deep understanding of BlackRock’s own business

  • Support senior Market Intelligence colleagues on market and competitor projects

  • Collaborate with Corporate Strategy on competitor updates and strategy initiatives

  • Uphold the team’s position as the authority on external data and cross-industry intelligence

  • Own assigned monthly reporting cycles and BAU processes, identifying improvements and efficiencies where appropriate

Qualification and Skills:

  • Master’s degree with background in Finance, including 3-5 years of work experience, preferably in asset management, research or consulting

  • Working knowledge of the investment management industry and a strong interest in broader financial markets

  • Familiarity with industry data sources (e.g., Broadridge, Morningstar, S&P Capital IQ) an advantage

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and a track record of handling large datasets and summarizing findings into succinct written briefs/presentations

  • Work and deliver stakeholder-ready content under minimal direct supervision

  • Ability to work effectively at all levels of an organization and build strong relationships with team members, managers, and senior executives in multiple locations

  • Detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
