  CURRENT OPPORTUNITY:  General Construction Estimator

Lane Valente Industries is a Retail, Construction, Facilities Maintenance and Project Management Company, and is looking for a highly motivated, responsible candidate for full-time position for a General Construction Estimator.

 

  • Prepares budget estimates and detailed take offs for construction bids and request for proposals (RFP) by reviewing and studying plans and specifications.

  • Evaluates and qualifies subcontractor quotes to ensure their scope of work is comprehensive, competitive and in accordance with the bid documents

  • Resolves cost differences by analyzing quotes along with historical pricing data.

  • Writes, presents and submits budgets, bids and RFP responses to senior management and clients.

  • Works closely with architects/engineers (A/E) and other professionals: responsible for preparing and submitting requests for information to the A/E’s.

  • Prepares general construction schedules based on scope of work in bids/RFPs.

  • Schedule meetings with subcontractors to review and qualify quotes.

  • Attend Pre-bid meetings and travel to project location, if required.

  • Familiar with electric vehicle infrastructure projects is a plus.

  • Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

    Qualifications and Skills:

     

  • Strong math skills

  • Ability to navigate specifications and plans

  • Proficient in utilizing software to perform detailed takeoffs

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments at once

  • Knowledge of the latest building codes

  • Detailed Oriented

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Software

  • 10 years of experience preferred
