Job Description

AECOM's Cultural Resources Team is currently seeking an experienced Project Archaeologist to work out of any one of our Ontario AECOM Offices to contribute to the growth and diversification of our archaeology team. The successful candidate will assist in managing, coordinating, and completing various archaeological assessments and associated reporting in accordance with provincial standards while meeting the needs of our diverse range of clientele.

This will be a full-time role starting as soon as possible.

Job Requirements:

To be considered for this position your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Must support the management of projects from the proposal phase to report completion, including coordination of multidisciplinary teams to successfully execute project deliverables.

  • Complete projects within client’s scope/budget/schedule expectations.

  • Ability to coordinate with clients, subcontractors and Indigenous partners.

  • Experience completing archaeological reports in compliance with the Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism (MCM) standards.

  • Familiarity with the MCM's archaeology and heritage online portal (Past Portal).

  • Firm understanding of the MCM's Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists .

  • Experience preparing and implementing field health and safety materials.

  • Attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently

  • Valid Research or Professional class license issued by the Ontario MCM

  • Demonstrated understanding of the pre-contact and historic artifacts found in Ontario.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in archaeology, anthropology (or in progress), or a related field.

  • 6 years consulting experience in Project Management role and of field experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8 year + of experience

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate logistics for multiple field teams

  • Experience with field effort tracking- i.e. collection and management of all field data

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $61,000.00 - $80,000.00.
