UCLA Health Human Gene and Cell Therapy Facility Manager in Los Angeles, California
Description
Under the direction
of the Director of the Human Gene and Cell Therapy Facility, the Human Gene and Cell Therapy Facility Manager will manage all logistics related to
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Facility maintenance, including: facilities
repairs and renovation, Isensix monitoring and annual calibration,
annual/biannual equipment preventive maintenance/calibration, central CO2 and
LN2 systems. Perform environmental monitoring of the Facility per established
SOPs and assist with in-process environmental monitoring as and when needed.
Manage GMP shared calendar, monitor room usage. Assume responsibility for
ordering, receiving, verifying qualification per specifications and
distributing GMP supplies and reagents. Maintain records of reagent receipt and
usage according to established SOPs. Participate in writing and implementing
HGCTF SOPs and equipment validations. Coordinate with the HGCTF financial
offices to secure and monitor all service/maintenance contracts for equipment.
Maintain the equipment inventory for HGCTF space, conduct the mandatory annual
physical inventory, oversee cleaning and troubleshoot outages, and maintain up
to date inventory records. Coordinate use of facility with HGCTF leadership and
maintain records of room usage. Assist with training staff and trainees. Must
be able to work weekends, holidays and other shifts as needed.
Annual Salary
Range: $63,596.80 - $140,373.20
Qualifications
Required:
Knowledge of laboratory management issues, including general knowledge of utilities and research requirements and a minimum of 3 years experience in facilities laboratory management in a University or Hospital setting.
Ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of people (research faculty, lab personnel, facilities personnel, craftspeople, etc.) to effect optimal results in solving facilities or laboratory problems.
Demonstrated skill in writing concise logical and grammatically correct reports, requests, etc.; skill in communicating effectively both in writing and orally.
Ability to implement equipment tracking programs utilizing appropriate technology, maintain accurate and up-to-date equipment inventory.
Analytical ability to define problems accurately, identify solutions, formulate logical and objective conclusions, recognize alternatives and their implications and to take necessary and appropriate action.
Experience coordinating projects with University resources (Facilities, Capital Programs, EH&S, Radiation Safety, equipment management, cylinder management, purchasing).
Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures.
Demonstrated ability to independently prioritize tasks and assignments, establishing their relative importance to assure optimal productivity.
Ability to work off hours and on weekends as necessary to respond to facilities-related issues, problems and emergencies.
Knowledgeable about requirements for GMP facility operations, monitoring, documentation and other relevant SOPs.
