Amazon Senior Manager, Risk Management, GSO Security Risk & Resilience in Luxembourg, Luxembourg

The Senior Manager Risk Management, leads the team that enables a comprehensive threat and risk management framework and the development of commensurate methodology, mechanisms, and capabilities to cope with various levels of threats, risks, incidents and crisis situations that jeopardize Amazon’s personnel, operations, assets, and interests.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Create frameworks and mechanisms by translating Amazon Security Policies into real world applications to defeat known and emerging/projected risks

  2. Implement detailed risk programs and comprehensive assessment reports to identify vulnerabilities and risks,

  3. Support the business with analytical deep dives to identify root causes of risk and major incidents

  4. Train, advise, and partner with other functions in identifying, managing and mitigating risks through robust standards and processes

  5. Assess known and new vulnerabilities and threats within Amazon business operations

  6. Work with stakeholders and internal customers to establish, provide, and agree on clear goals, objectives, and performance delivery outcomes

A day in the life

The Senior Manager works closely and on daily basis with most senior leaders of Operations, Employee Relations, Public Relations, Public Policy, Finance, Legal, and more. GSO Security Risk Management operates in highly diversified and volatile environment which includes numerous regulatory and law enforcement environments, cultures, languages, criminality levels and national, political, social and security complexities.

The team’s operational footprint covers global operations.

The Senior Manager leads the cooperation with various global functions to develop specific frameworks and mechanisms relevant to managing risk to people, operations, assets and brand.

About the team

Working in partnership with our stakeholders, we promote risk and security in business decision-making. We do this by preventing Security and Loss Prevention-related risks and vulnerabilities as early as possible, to minimize any negative impact in order to identify and remove root causes, preventing reoccurrence.

The Security Risk Management team provides strategic, tactical and operational analysis of the business needs and priorities by working closely with business leaders, support functions and other security functions. The team collects and consolidates information to evaluate existing and evolving threats, assessing the probability of related events in order to minimize potential impact.

Basic Qualifications

  1. An advanced degree

  2. Project management and delivery experience

  3. Knowledge and qualification in industry risk assessment and resilience processes

  4. Demonstrated ability to work with multiple, competing deadlines, with excellent attention to detail

  5. Ability to communicate with all levels of business leadership and staff

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Advanced degree in related field (Risk management, Resilience, etc.)

  2. Experience with continuous improvement cycles and analytical methodology

  3. Familiarity with risk, business continuity and data management platforms (BSI, Audit board etc)

  4. Risk management industry certification
