JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care seeks a physician scientist in Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy to join our team. We are looking for candidates with a track record of clinical excellence and academic contributions, as demonstrated through training and/or practice experience in caring for patients undergoing stem cell transplantation and other cellular therapies, and excellent research achievement. Leadership opportunity as the facility director of Stem Cell Processing Facility within our stem cell transplant cellular therapy program may be available. Specifically, we seek a clinical and translational researcher with interest in post-transplant immunological complications, use of novel cellular therapies for cancer treatment, and use of bone marrow stem cells in transplant and regenerative medicine. The physician scientist will be expected to engage in active collaborative research and build clinical and/or translational research in the division and obtain/maintain independent extramural funding. A competitive salary and benefits package is provided, including generous academic support. Our stem cell transplant program has been FACT accredited since 2001, performing about 140-180 SCT yearly (60-70 allo-SCT yearly and 80-100 auto-SCT year) in recent years. We are a certified treatment center for all the FDA-approved commercial CART products for ALL, variety of lymphomas and multiple myeloma. Our CART patient volume had been doubling in the past 3 years, and we anticipate reaching 80-100 CART treatments per year with further growth in the coming years. In addition, we are actively participating in significant number of consortium and industry-sponsored cell therapy trials. We are conducting novel investigator-initiated therapeutic trials such as using alpha/beta T cell depleted haploidentical transplantation for the treatment of relapsed pediatric neuroblastoma and sarcomas. Our program is also developing institutional cell therapy trials including CRISPR/Cas9 generated CAR T cells for solid tumors and CNS malignancies, and ex vivo activated/expanded NK cells to treat neuroblastoma and osteogenic...
