Organization Overview:The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Community Engagement and Success, the Career Services Coordinator will build and maintain relationships with employers to ensure that participants find stability and success on the job, and work in collaboration within the Education and Workforce teams to boost participant earnings over time. The Career Services Coordinator is primarily responsible for providing disconnected young adults, ages 17- 24, with access to employment placement opportunities within labor market sectors that are expanding in New York City.
Schedule: Monday through Friday35 hours per week
Salary Range: $58,500 to $65,000
Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties
Partnerships & Development
Identify and secure at least 10-20+ external employment partnerships for internships to support the Education and Workforce ACCESS (Advancing College and Careers through Experience, Skills, and Support) programming, which includes Advance and Earn, Works Progress Program, and SYEP participants.
Build and maintain strong relationships with employers to identify job and career opportunities to expand the Educational and Workforce’s employer network.
Work alongside the Director of Community Engagement and Success and the Engagement Team to assemble an Employer Advisory Council comprised of our most valued employment partners who will support equitable access to employment
Support the Development department in the completion of grant proposals by attaining letters of support from employer and community partners when needed

Career Services
Support the placement of 50 GED students and 50 SYEP participants annually into sector-focused internship for up to 13 weeks for Advance and Earn program.
Support the building and maintenance of a client-facing job board that includes current job orders
Coordinate and participate in job fairs, workshops, and employer networking events.
Provide career counseling, job readiness training, and support to at-risk youth with multiple barriers to employment.
Collaborate with community groups and organizations to enhance workforce development efforts.
Assist the Employment Specialist in guiding participants through the process of developing effective job search strategies, crafting compelling resumes, and preparing for interviews.
Track participant progress and employment outcomes, maintaining accurate records and data.
Consistently connect with employers across industries about job opportunities and career pathways to ensure that Education and Workforce graduates maintain access to the most competitive opportunities
Represent Isaacs Center on panels, webinars, and forums
Support the re-placement of current participants and alumni who are unemployed, underemployed, or in search of higher wage/alternative employment
Provide one-on-one and small group mentoring and coaching to active participants and alumni
Work one-on-one with students to create resumes and prepare for interviews and trials
Record student and employer interactions and internship and job placements into Salesforce, Advance and Earn, DYCD connect etc.

Professional Development and Upskilling
Assist with facilitating or the procurement of facilitators of in-person workshops that cover various topics that support advancement and certification of participants
Support the Engagement and Success Team in the scheduling of experiential learning opportunities that keep participants engaged in programming.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
2+ years of high-level experience developing job opportunities for young adults
Established network/relationships with funders, employers, hiring companies, job training programs, and educational opportunity providers across New York City.
Knowledge and understanding of career pathways within the healthcare and technology industries
Experience with recruitment, and job placement.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, networking, negotiation (conflict management and resolution), and presentation skills.
Ability to work some flexible hours (e.g., evenings and weekends)
Experience establishing employer partnerships a plus
A Background in the technology and healthcare sectors a plus
