The Field Service Director - West Area for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for directing and controlling the Field Service Organization for a large segment of the company’s commercial operation. You will also be responsible for all field service resources and service delivery within defined area or zone including; installations and implementations, preventative maintenance, all break/fix service activity, and all proactive post sale service activity. This position will have responsibility for the P&L of the Service Business with direct revenue in excess of $65M, and costs in excess of $30M.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop strategic goals and objectives that meet the needs of customers.

  • Develop and manage operating service budget, allocating resources as required for cost effective results.

  • Develop and manage Revenue growth objectives for Area and territories.

  • Implement appropriate customer support strategies, manage service employees, and partner with Sales to develop tactical and strategic agreements with customers.

  • Partner with Sales to create plans to support the strategic initiates tied to key customer accounts.

  • Prepare, manage the preparation, deliver, manage the delivery of Service Business Reviews for key customer accounts on predetermined frequency.

  • Develop service business plans to enhance service and revenues with focus on Customer Retention and expansion of portfolio.

  • Advance strategic projects by expanding operational, analytical, and technical capabilities of the entire Field service organization by leading projects, applying DBS (Danaher Business System) to map improvement plans, drive sustainable and continuous improvements.

    The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering / Bio Medical or related discipline with 10+ years’ of experience OR Master’s/Doctoral degree with 8+ years’ of experience

  • 6+ years’ experience in people management

  • Proven experience in customer support role interfacing with senior customer management personnel

  • Working knowledge of Field Customer Support, Service Contracting, and all its related sub fields

  • Knowledge of customer relationships and customer satisfaction methodologies

  • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Medical Laboratory experience

  • The medical diagnostic industry - specifically its trends, pitfalls and challenges preferred

  • Diagnostic analyzers – specifications and performance standards, US healthcare legislation

The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $180,000 to $220,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
