The Senior Project Manager will efficiently execute solar installations from the sales handoff to utility completion and beyond, as well as lead and mentor Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers. The ideal candidate is someone with a track record of effectively executing mid- to large-scale solar installations, who can efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously, and has strong customer service and leadership skills. The candidate must also show a strong sense of teamwork, as our company relies on working together to accomplish goals.

*Pay range for this role is $130,000-$150,000 annually, depending on experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Enforce the values of the company on each job site and ensure accuracy and professionalism is maintained

  2. Follow company Standard Operating Procedures, rules, and OSHA safety requirement.

  3. Enforce the message to all project stakeholders that safety is our number one priority

  4. Oversee projects as directed, in both the preconstruction and construction phases, by working with local municipalities and utilities.

  5. Manage complex installation and clients.

  6. Lead, manage, and mentor a team of up to 5 Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers.

  7. Assist with the development and implementation of SOP’s.

  8. Coordinate and review the digital design of a commercial solar PV system

  9. Work with Sales Team members and customers to secure a project timeline

  10. Work with the Engineering Team or EORs to ensure production of accurate system designs and permitting/utility documentation

  11. Work with Construction Management Team to schedule installation crews or contract and manage external subcontractors according to production timelines

  12. Maintain project documentation and file structure

  13. Oversee procurement of materials with the help of our Procurement Team to ensure project schedule is maintained

  14. Manage relationships with customers and vendors as necessary

  15. Communicate with company leadership on the status of projects

  16. Stay up to date on industry trends and new technologies.

  17. Act as a mentor and resource for PM 1, PM 2, and APM level associates, to aid in their growth and understanding as we build towards Operational Excellence.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BS/BA degree, preferably with a focus in construction, or equivalent education and/or experience.

  • 3+ years of progressive responsibility in solar project management or experience (required)

  • 3+ years permitting experience, to include both ministerial and AHJ levels.

  • 3+ years procurement experience

COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

  • Proven Client Management skills with challenge and demanding clients

  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)

  • Knowledge of basic electrical design, theory, and concepts

  • Ability to work independently under pressure, to organize and prioritize workloads, and to keep several projects progressing to completion with little or no direction.

  • Ability to weigh options, foresee consequences, and employ good judgment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal

  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and ownership in all assignments

  • Ability to collaborate closely with other team members on a wide variety of projects.

  • Prepares timely and accurate paperwork

  • Supervise up to 5 direct reports.
