About this role

Kidde is seeking an experienced, passionate, and creative Marketing Communications Specialist for its Residential Fire business in Canada . Join our team in developing and implementing marketing communication strategies that impact the customer experience. This role will partner closely with the regional and global business cross-functional teams to tailor the solutions based on customer needs. The position reports to the North America Communications Senior Manager based in the USA.

This is a hybrid role in Vaughan ON .

Key Responsibilities

  • Support brand management, i.e., ensure brand, creativity and local standards are met in product packaging; review that content meets the standards and check translations for relevancy

  • Collaboration with product management, trade marketing and sales counterparts to execute successful New Product Introductions and promote existing range among our customers

  • Provide input into media plans and activations, give perspective and support with organic social media plans

  • Help support local brand, communications and sales activations; work with agencies and cross functional teams for e.g., trade shows

  • Represent brand in media interviews e.g. television and radio

  • Help with industry relations and corporate social responsibility efforts e.g., donations

  • Integrate copywriting expertise to create, design, edit, and review communications prior to release; ensure message consistency and alignment with brand guidelines

  • Warrant timely response and action with regards to any potential and ongoing reputational issues

  • Effective communication and escalation process management from local to global teams

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5+ years of experience in communications or marketing field

  • Fluency in English and Canadian French

  • Willingness to travel 30% primarily in Canada (occasional US)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or communications

  • Experience in public speaking, and media interviews

  • Strategic thinking skills to manage difficult and sometimes complex problems

  • Work in a constantly changing corporate environment, independently as well as on a team, and interact with all levels of management in a professional and positive manner

  • Social media (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram) and best practices thereof

  • Canadian French and English communications skills both in written and verbal form

  • Able to copywrite to create articles, LinkedIn posts, press releases

  • Translate complicated concepts into common language both in Canadian French and English.

  • Organizational skills including strategic planning and attention to detail

  • Manage time efficiently, work on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines

  • Project management and consulting skills

  • Event management experience

  • Work and collaborate in matrix, multi-national organization

  • Lead project teams and budgets

  • Analytical skills, evaluate data

  • Drive engagement and advocacy

  • Agility and an eye for uncovering opportunities
