Validation Technician Location: Foster City, CA Duration: 6 months Job Description Team: Base Ops Service Engineering Reports to: Team Lead - Serviceability engineering The Position: Client is looking for a Validation technician to drive reworks, labor time development and publication responsibilities on all the Client vehicles . In this role, you will lead the validation activities for reworks identified by engineering. You will perform evaluations of the instructions/process provided by engineering for the specific reworks to ensure the Base Operations technician team can execute them in a safe and efficient manner. You will collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to validate the repair by coordinating with the Base Operations technicians. You will collaborate with the documentation team to come up with service bulletins based on the engineering procedure and learnings from validation. You will work on ensuring overall readiness (parts, procedures, repair feasibilities.) of reworks so that the Base Operations technicians can successfully execute the rework on the rest of the fleet . You will represent the Base Operations Engineering function in the Rework review board (RRB) and provide necessary input to help engineering succeed in the requested reworks. You will spend time with the field technicians evaluating the products and identify changes that will improve the overall serviceability and maintainability of our products. You will work with the Base Operations technicians to schedule vehicles for time studies of service procedures. Through feedback from the field team, you will collaborate with engineering to make product improvements as necessary. Responsibilities: Establish relationships with the hardware and software engineering teams, PMO, Base operations repair teams, to drive rework activities in a timely manner. Collaborate with Base operation technicians for validation activities, obtain feedback on the procedure to make improvements. Develop detailed instructions using the process provided by engineering and based on the learnings from the validation activities. Work with the PMO and Base operations repair team to schedule the validation activities per vehicle availability Work closely with the documentation team to finalize the instructions and publish them in the form of service bulletins. Represent the Base Operations team in the RRB forum, provide updates for the on-going rework validation activities. Identify rework process improvement opportunities. Collaborate with the PMO to implement process improvements. Responsible to ensure the readiness of the rework before it is launched to the Base Operations repair team Responsible for conducting time studies of mechanical and electrical service procedures Responsible to maintain the standard labor repair time guide Requirements: Demonstrated successful experience in collaborating with engineering teams to perform validation and/or testing. Practical experience technical /field experience Ability to comprehend schematics, electrical diagrams, connector end views/pinout Proficiency with automotive diagnostic tools and/or equipment design experience Familiarity with vehicle communication networking protocols and tools Experience working on products through its lifecycle, product and process validation Detail-oriented, including proven written and verbal communication skills Education Certificate, Diploma, or Associate's degree. Degree in Automotive Technology or related field is a plus 3-5 years of relevant experience in validation or testing components on a system level.
